Expert Guidance for Everyday Parenting Challenges
Parenting can feel overwhelming when you’re unsure how to best support your child’s needs — at home, at school, or in daily routines. Our Parent Consultation Services offer one-on-one meetings with experienced pediatric professionals who understand your child’s unique developmental, emotional, and sensory profile.
We help you find clarity, create personalized strategies, and build confidence in supporting your child across all environments.
What is a Parent Consultation?
Designed just for parents and caregivers, this is a designated time and space for you to ask your honest questions in a supportive environment — without your child present.
You will receive:
- A clearer picture of your child’s strengths and challenges
- Practical recommendations for home routines, school participation, and community settings
- Optional follow-up support or referrals for next steps

What does a parent consultation entail?
A Parent Consultation is a 45-min or 60-min meeting where you’ll meet with an Occupational Therapist to discuss your child’s progress, challenges, and next steps.
You’ll leave with personalized recommendations for your child’s routines at home, daycare, or school, and referrals for any further supports if needed.
Consultations are available in-clinic, virtually, or as an on-site home or school visit when more context is helpful.
When to Book a Parent Consultation
Parent consultations can be especially helpful if you’re:
- Feeling unsure about your child’s developmental milestones or behaviours.
- Seeking strategies for routines, such as mealtime, bedtime, or transitions.
- Wanting guidance on school participation, attention, or sensory regulation.
- Navigating feedback from teachers or therapists and want a clearer plan.
- Looking for a second opinion or next steps after an assessment
What to Expect During Your Consultation
During your 45-minute or 60-minute session, your clinician will:
- Listen to your concerns, goals and gather background information
- Review any reports, school notes, or observations you share
- Discuss what is working and what feels challenging
- Collaboratively plan realistic, individualized strategies for your child’s daily life
- Provide a summary document of recommendations after your meeting
(On-site visits include observation of the child’s space or routines before recommendations are made.)
